Willow Varieties

Orders for willow for the 2016/2017 season are now being taken.
Cuttings will be taken at favourable times during the winter months (November/December onwards) and shipped out to you at your convenience.
Please note that any orders placed now will not be shipped until the end of 2016

We currently sell eight different varieties of willow.
Heights specified refer to 1 years growth. The height suggested can only be an estimation  and will be variable depending on season, location and growing conditions. These are the approximate heights that the willow grows to at Farm on the Hill

Cuttings are available in approximately 30 cm lengths for 60p each.

Ordering is easy; just click 'add to cart' , this will bring up your shopping cart in a seperate window. Quantities can be adjusted through the quantity box on the cart. Enter required amount and click 'update'.
Alternatively contact us direct to order via email. This will enable you to pay when your order is shipped rather than now if that is preferable to you.

Dark Dicks Willow
A renowned weaving variety, producing slender stems suitable for fine basket work. Colour is slightly varied from a dark red to green
Grows to a height of 1.5-2 m

Triandra - Black Maul Almond leaved Willow
This is the traditonal variety used for basket and hurdle weaving. Also suitable for shorter living willow structures Grows to a height of approximately 2 m

Viminalis osier Super Willow
unbelievably vigorous and strong growing willow producing many long, straight and thick stems. Ideal for large basketry work, hurdle making, wind breaks, fuel production, water filtration, soil stabilisation and living structures

Daphnoides - Violet Willow
A strong and decorative willow producing long straight rods of a deep violet colour.
Great to add year round colour to your living willow structures or garden border.

Chinese Super Willow
Stunning variety of vividly coloured stems ranging from green through yellow to orange. Colour varies greatly throughout the stem.
Ideal for living willow structures, wind break, water filtration, fuel production and ornamental use.
