This quiet trail follows the river Churnet through woodland and meadow alongside the old railway line from Prestwood to Oakamoor.

The route home from Oakmoor takes you through Dimmingsdale.
Dimmingsdale is a true hidden gem with stunnning scenary including lakes, streams, mixed woodland, rocky outcrops and abundant wildlife. Keep a look out for herons, kingfishers, and both spotted and green woodpeckers.

We offer a range of picnics and hampers that can be booked in advance
with many beautiful picnic spots on route.

The area surrounding the farm has many great cycle routes including gentle trails along the old churnet valley railway line,  cycle ways through the woods around dimmingsdale, to quiet country lane routes around local history points including Croxden Abbey The cycle route detailed above is first of our cycle routes, there are more being devised all the time (July 8th 2011)
