The new planting season has begun...
September on the Hill
The Camping season has started here at Farm on the Hill. Weekends are starting to book up and we've even had the first few pioneer campers braving the chilly nights, and occasional gale force winds and heavy downpours, in order to huddle round a campfire with friends and welcome in the new season.
March has bought with it some much needed sunshine after weeks of heavy rain and the ground is now drying out. Allotmenters are starting to work the plots up on the hill, and we, as a family, have managed to move our home to the woodland and start fencing in our new garden :-)..new beginnings, a new season, and as ever, so many new plans :-)
Willow cuttings are available for sale from our online shop for any of you interested in setting up your cutting row. Willow is a plant i fall in love with more and more each year, give it a try and at only 60p/cutting what have to lose? :)
We have daily visitors to our new garden of a merry bunch of redpolls, with flashes of bright red on their heads and chests they are a captivating new addition to our day..a bird i've never seen before.
The first coltsfoot flowers have opened on the woodland rides and the daffodils are opening their buds in the camping clearings.
It is truly a beautiful time of year here at the farm, our very best wishes from all of us here at Farm on the Hill, we hope to see you soon :-)
