May this year bring you all peace and joy x
Happy 2012 from everyone here at the farm with our very best wishes x
Some photos of the the last month ......
We've seen snow, only a little, but snow all the same,
we've had incredible gales that reminded us of the immense power of nature; west winds with such force that they completely removed the cover of the polytunnel, bending the two end hoops in the process and flattening all the internal framing. To stand in the scene of such destruction after the winds had passed it seemed unimaginable.
Looking on the positive side of the polytunnel 'renovations'.... the ground immediately seemed to look happier as it was exposed to the elements and the outside world for the first time in 7 years. You could almost see and hear the ground breath a sigh of pleasure! I'm looking forward to it feeling some rain as it has only drunk tap water in a long time. So thank you wind x .....I wouldn't have removed the cover on my own :-)
Unfortunately we have lost our chicken, perhaps to a fox, a couple of days ago,and so now our cockeral is on his own...the picture of the two of them above is great to see.
If anyone knows of any chickens that might want to come and keep him company please let us know, we're on the look out for a new friend for him :-)
The photos of the woodland show us how mild the winter has been so far...the summer flowering annuals are still flowering!!! Not many but some...and new seedlings are showing through already ready for the spring and a new season of flowers :-)
The sunshine of the last few days has led to me preparing the greenhouses ready for the new seedlings and thinking about the plants we will be growing this year, the seed catalogues are out and the dreams have begun! :-)
Wishing you all a wonderful 2012, may your crops be bountiful and all of your most beautiful dreams come true ! :-)
much love x
