Happy New Year everyone :-)
The new allotments are now underway; we've removed all pig arks and fencing from the site and are set to plough over the next couple of days :-). Still hoping to be open by February, so fingers crossed for favourable weather conditions!
Todays first sunny Spring like day saw lots of you up there tidying up the plots....its great to see activity and smiles again after what has seemed like a very long and hard winter! (yes i am deluding myself that it is over!! :-)).....eternal optimist :-).
The pigeons seem to have made light work of any crops thaat were above the snowline....next year we need to cover everything and anything with netting! Although you can't really blame them...its all about survival. I was amused to see that they're not particularly keen on brussel sprouts...even under starvation conditions! :-)
off to get warm...frozen fingers...and a night in front of the fire with a seed catalogue......
good luck with the new season :-)
